Good attitude and strong spirit hold key to Hong Kong success

MEDAN (2015 FIBA Asia U16 Women's Championship) - With three successive victories so far, Hong Kong are poised for a top two finish in Level II, thus giving themselves a chance to play in the Level I play-offs.

Hong Kong coach Kin Ho Koon is pleased with the way her team has progressed.

“Nobody expected us to perform like we are right now, but I’m not surprised because I know the ability of each of my players,” she said.

Hong Kong's campaign began with a shock 71-32 win over Malaysia and since then it has been a roll.

Hong Kong's best ever finish is a third place finish in Level II at the 2011 FIBA Asia U16 Women's Championship in Jinan, but Koon believes her girls can better that this time.

"I told my players before arriving to Medan that good attitude and strong spirit are two important elements that we must work on," she said.

It’s a crunch match-up next against hosts Indonesia and a win will take them closer to the top of Level II.
