FIBA's Annie La Fleur receives Basketball New South Wales Hall of Fame honour

SYDNEY - Australian WNBL, Europe, WNBA, World Championships, Olympic Games - Annie La Fleur has excelled at every level the sport of basketball has to offer.

Adding to her amazing list of achievements - La Fleur was inducted into the Basketball New South Wales Hall of Fame last Friday.

FIBA Development Manager - Oceania, La Fleur played in two World Championships, the first of which she helped make history as this was the first Australian team to medal at this level - winning bronze in 1998.

She was also part of the team that brought home Australia’s first ever Olympic medal, winning silver at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. La Fleur also had a decorated basketball career at both home and abroad, winning three WNBL Championships with the Sydney Flames (1993, 1997) and the Sydney Panthers (2000/01).

She also played in the WNBA for the Minnesota Lynx in 1999 and the Washington Mystics in the 2001 – 2003 seasons.
