FIBA shortlisted for numerous SportBusiness awards

MIES - FIBA are in the running for eight honors in the inaugural SportsBusiness Ultimate Sports Federation Awards.

Basketball's world governing body has been shortlisted for awards in the categories of Events Calendar and Strategy, Global Popularity and Expansion, Marketing and Communications, Commercial, Branding, Innovation as well as in Government and Transparency and Inclusivity.

FIBA is also among the 10 finalists for the prestigious overall SportBusiness Ultimate Sports Federation award.

Being shortlisted in the aforementioned categories is a strong indication that FIBA is running smoothly and achieving its objectives.

The hope of SportBusiness is that the results will create a benchmark of excellence for international federations and also foster industry best practice.

Category winners will be unveiled and the overall winner announced at SportAccord Convention World Sport & Business Summit in Sochi, Russia, at a breakfast briefing on 23 April.

The SportBusiness Ultimate Sports Federations Awards were launched following the success of the SportBusiness Ultimate Sports Cities Awards and Rankings that have been held every two years since 2006. The process involved analysing an initial cut of 30 international federations and associations and then asking them to complete a detailed survey across nine key categories. These surveys were then analysed by a panel of external judges who are all experts in their respective fields.
