Fenerbahce to host 2016 EuroLeague Women Final Four

MUNICH (EuroLeague Women) - FIBA Europe announced on Tuesday that Fenerbahce S.K. Istanbul will be the hosts of the 2016 EuroLeague Women Final Four.

The tournament will be played in the state of-the-art Fenerbahce Ulker Arena which has a capacity of up to 15,000 spectators.

This is the second time since 2012 that the Turkish city of Istanbul will play host to a EuroLeague Women season ending tournament.

On that occasion Galatasaray organised the season's finale, the Final Eight, in Abdi Ipekci Arena.

"Fenerbahce is a club with a rich tradition, and their women's basketball team has established itself in the very top of European basketball," commented FIBA Executive Director Europe, Kamil Novak.

"In recent years, Turkey has hosted several basketball events, including the men's and women's World Cups, and we are convinced that we will once more experience a fantastic basketball atmosphere."

Hosts Fenerbahce will meet Final Four debutants Nadezhda Orenburg (Russia) in the first semi-final of this year's event, while defending champions ZVVZ USK Prague (Czech Republic) will match up against 2013 winners UMMC Ekaterinburg (Russia).

The Final Four will take place from 15-17 April.
