FINAL

Germany v Spain

It's a first-ever Final appearance for Germany and not only is that an already magnificent achievement, should they win a maiden title - they will have to do it by going 7-0 and leaving the tournament unbeaten which would be absolutely remarkable. Spain have some injury problems in the paint and that could be an issue against a German side whose strength is under the basket. These teams have already met in group play, with Germany prevailing in overtime. 

THIRD PLACE 

France v Italy

France will be favourites to take the last step on tonight's podium and will still be furious at allowing a glorious chance of a title slip away via their agonising one-point loss to Germany in the Semi-Finals. If they can pick themselves back up mentally, they should have enough to beat the hosts. Although with home passion flowing around the Arena, Italy will need to be respected as they have only lost once like their opponents.

5-8 PLACE

Lithuania v Croatia

It's already been a relative success for both nations and taking a top-five spot will be a great way to sign off what have been two wholly impressive campaigns.

Belarus v Czech Republic

Belarus will probably be expecting a backlash from Czech Republic, since the fallen champs did not even break the 50-point barrier on Saturday against Croatia. Belarus must somehow try to avoid the lack of rebounding that has affected them in their last two performances.

9-16 CLASSIFICATION

Turkey v Latvia

Having lost their first four games, Turkey are looking to go three in a row and take ninth spot, while Latvia are also on a roll and still buzzing from completing a double over their illustrious neighbours Russia.

Hungary v Russia

Both teams were disappointed not to make it to the top eight, but having avoided relegation, can now relax and enjoy their last outing in Udine.

Serbia v Portugal

Outside of the fight for the medals, it's the biggest game of the day as both nations look to secure their Division A status which will mean elation for the winning side and Division B misery for the losers. Portugal will try to keep it up-tempo and Serbia will try to dominate under the basket.

Sweden v Slovak Republic

It's the game nobody wants to have to play having already been relegated. But there is national pride and also the fact that Slovak Republic are trying to avoid posting an unwanted 0-7 record.

FIBA
