BURGOS (EuroBasket 2015) - There were special guests in Burgos, Spain on Saturday as Frenkie and the Nikolai Semashko Trophy dropped in on the local leg of Plaza 2018 3x3 Spanish Tour. 

Frenkie and the EuroBasket 2015 trophy were greeted by sunny skies in the north of Spain with players of all ages and abilities demonstrating their skills on the 3x3 courts.

Also on hand was Spanish basketball legend Jorge Garbajosa.

"It is a great initiative and we are all happy to have the trophy here. I hope the competition ends up well and everyone enjoys the day, as it helps promote basketball," stated the former national team forward.

"It is a pleasure both for the City Council and the citizens to have such an important symbol in the world of sports in Burgos," explained Burgos city councillor Jorge Berzosa, who also spoke of Spain's chances ahead the main event in September.

"I think we all have the highest expectations when it comes to the Spanish national team, especially now with the confirmed presence of Pau Gasol."

Frenkie will be expecting to continue working on his tan on Wednesday when he touches down on the Greek island of Crete for the opening of the FIBA U19 World Championship which starts on 27 June.
