Croatia blow out Iran in second half for second win

HERAKLION (2015 FIBA U19 World Championship) - Croatia allowed just 12 points in the second half as they secured second place in Group A of the 2015 FIBA U19 World Championship with an 86-36 victory over Iran. Five Croatians scored at least nine points paced by 20 points from Ivica Zubac.

Turning Point: Croatia led just 27-24 midway through the second quarter when they finished the first half with the final six points and used an 8-1 run to go ahead 41-25. Iran never challenged Croatia thereafter.

Stats Don't Lie: Croatia held Iran to just 23 percent shooting while out-rebounding them 48-25 and dishing out 30 assists. Croatia got 56 points in the paint and 55 points off the bench compared to 14 and 17 points respectively.

Game Hero: One game after struggling to handle the intense United States pressure, point guard Borna Kapusta collected four points, 12 assists, five rebounds, three steals and one block.

The Bottom Line: Croatia took care of business - especially on the defensive end - in improving to 2-1 in the group to secure second place. They will next face China in the Round of 16. Iran dropped to 0-3 in the group and will take on Turkey in the knockout stage.
