Chinese Taipei breeze past Thailand for second win

WUHAN (2015 FIBA Asia Women's Championship) - Chinese Taipei continued their eye-catching start to the 2015 FIBA Asia Women's Championship in Wuhan after making it two wins in as many days after a 108-42 success against Thailand.

Turning Point: Already firmly on the front foot and possessing a double-digit lead after the opening ten minutes of action, Chinese Taipei ruled out any notion of becoming the victim of a surprise with a one-sided and scorching 32-8 second period.

Stats Don't Lie: The difference in way that the respective teams looked after the ball proved to be one of the biggest factors of this encounter. Chinese Taipei committed only 12 turnovers and played with real control, while Thailand spilled the ball 33 times as they failed to cope with the defensive pressure which harvested 22 steals for the winning side.

Game Heroes: Hsi-Le Bao was terrific and only missed one shot after going six of seven from the floor for 13 points and completing a double-double with 10 boards. Yu-Chun Wei also excelled with a team-high 21 points.

The Bottom Line: It's so far so good for Chinese Taipei, who have impressed in their opening two outings and certainly taken full advantage of the way the schedule handed them the opportunity to build up some momentum. But it is from this point onwards that their true potential will be put to the test as they face some of the biggest-hitters at the tournament. Thailand had a tough initiation against China on day one and this was also testing for them as they try to take baby steps and find the improvements they will need to compete against India which looks like being the crunch clash.
