56 clubs confirmed for new FIBA Europe club competition

MUNICH - Fifty six clubs from throughout Europe have been confirmed to play in the new FIBA men's second-tier club competition which begins on 28 October.

The teams will be geographically placed in two conferences which also takes into account the number of participating teams from each nation. Each conference will consist of seven groups of four clubs each.

Each club will play the remaining three in their group in a home-and-away format with the top two teams from each group, along with the four best-placed third place teams advancing to the Round of 32.

The Round of 32 will follow the same format as the Regular Season, with the two best-placed clubs from each group advancing to the Last 16 Play-Offs.

The tournament Final Four is set to take place from 29 April to 1 May 2016.

The Draw for the competition will take place in Freising, Germany on 4 August at 1pm (CET), and can be followed live on fibaeurope.com

The seeding has been prepared on the basis of the clubs' participation and results in European Club Competitions in recent years as well as the clubs' ranking in their respective domestic leagues last season.
