Sigal Prishtina celebrate another gold in Kosovo

PRISHTINA (Kosovo Basketball Superleague) - There was no match for Sigal Prishtina in the Kosovo Basketball Superleague once again, with the team from the capital retaining the domestic championship for the fourth season in a row.

The Audrius Prakuraitis-coached team capped off a strong showing in the Play-Offs with a 3-1 victory against Bashkimi in the Finals, winning the decisive game 73-64 on the road in Prizren.

It was the outstanding trio of Willie Kemp, Jabarie Hinds and Mike Moser that got job done for the club from the capital, combining for 52 of the team's total points and pushing the team across the finish line in the fourth quarter.

Kemp was the top scorer with 19 points, Moser chipped in with 17 points and 7 rebounds, while Hinds chipped in with 16 points, 5 assists, 4 rebounds and 3 steals.

Sigal have been the dominant force in Kosovar basketball for over a decade now, with the latest triumph increasing the team's national championship count to an unmatched 12 titles.

In spite of defending their league title, Sigal did have to settle for a slightly more modest haul in the 2016-17 season comparing to last, when they also lifted the Kosovo Basketball Cup and triumphed in the Balkan Basketball League.

They did manage to retain the domestic cup, beating the country's other FIBA Europe Cup team KB Peja 77-66 in the Final, but spun out of the race in the Balkan Basketball League already in the First Stage.

Having hoped to cause a stir in Europe, Sigal fell short of expectations in their second season in the FIBA Europe Cup, finishing with a 1-5 record in Group H that also featured Demir Insaat, Enisey Krasnoyarsk and Rilski Sportist.
