DUBLIN (FIBA U18 Women's European Championship 2017, Division B) - After leading Germany to gold at the FIBA U18 Women's European Championship 2017, Division B in Dublin, Nyara Sabally also received the Most Valuable Player award in front of a packed National Basketball Arena.

The versatile 17-year-old forward, who led Germany's promotion bid with averages of 17.3 points, 12.8 rebounds, 2.2 steals and 1.7 blocks per game, turned in another unstoppable performance in the title-decider against the tournament hosts Ireland.

Sabally spearheaded the All-Star Five alongside teammate Geiselsoder

Having helped establish a double-digit lead for her team, Sabally had plenty of time to enjoy the front-row seats in Germany's 67-43 triumph, logging just 23 minutes but still finishing with a double-double of 15 points and 11 rebounds.

It isn't the first individual award in the Sabally family this summer, with Nyara's older sister Satou claiming MVP honors at the FIBA U20 European Championship 2017, Division B after also guiding Germany to the top of the podium.

Nyara Sabally wasn't the only Germany player on the All-Star Team, with her teammate Luisa Geiselsoder also getting recognized for her outstanding contributions to the side's undefeated run.

Claire Melia received the loudest applause from the home crowd in Dublin after guiding the host country to historic heights with a silver medal and a first-ever promotion to Division A at any level.

Third-place Poland were represented by point guard Natalia Klimek in the All-Star Five, with the list of the best players of the tournament rounded out by Holly Winterburn of Great Britain, who had to settle for fourth after coming up short in the bronze-medal game.
