MUNICH (EuroLeague Women 2016) – With UMMC running an almost full strength roster for the first time this EuroLeague Women season, it was their star center Brittney Griner stealing the limelight, headlining this week’s Top Performers, along with her team-mate from the US national team.

The Olympic gold medallist recorded an efficiency of 26, thanks to her 24 points, 6 rebounds and 3 blocks as UMMC Ekaterinburg ran out 81-66 winners over Tango Bourges Basket on home soil. She was joined on the top performers team by fellow USA Olympian Angel McCoughtry.

Playing for UMMC Ekaterinburg’s biggest domestic rivals, Dynamo Kursk, the swingman also recorded an efficiency of 26, on the back of 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 steals as the Russian club defeated Fenerbahce 72-69 in Istanbul.

Wisla Can-Pack were in desperate need of a victory and it finally arrived, at the cost of Uni Gyor, with the veteran know-how of Ewelina Kobryn proving invaluable. She ended the night with 17 points and 6 rebounds.

Teen sensation Cecilia Zandalasini was another to show prominence in a winning effort on Thursday night, the Italian international finishing with 17 points and 5 rebounds, for an efficiency of 22, as Famila Schio saw off Mersin 71-64.
