Lattes Montpellier confirm final roster for EuroLeague Women return

MONTPELLIER (EuroLeague Women 2017) – After a season-long hiatus and plenty of domestic success, Basket Lattes Montpellier Agglomeration are making a return to EuroLeague Women for 2016-17 and have already assembled their roster for what will be an exciting re-entry.

They will be able to rely on the services of a number of Rio Olympians including a new face in the form of Opals’ wing Rachael Jarry who will play on European soil for the very first time, having only previously played her club basketball in Australia and also with Minnesota Lynx in the WNBA. She picks up the baton from her compatriot Jenna O’Hea who played with the club last season.

Captain Gaelle Skrela is back on board as captain and the 33-year-old will be pivotal as she continues her lengthy association with the club, while perhaps the most important player will be Sarah Michel, whose dynamic play and scoring touch is likely to spearhead their challenge in the competition.

Interestingly, BLMA have opted to also hand returns to the vastly experienced Geraldine Robert and Fatimatou Sacko, who both played with Villeneuve d’Ascq last season but represented Montpellier previously in EuroCup Women. 'Gabon's greatest' Robert has been back in Africa and working hard during the off-season.

There are also spots for former Les Bleues competitors in Anael Lardy who will orchestrate the plays at point guard, with Elodie Godin adding a veteran touch in the paint and she has been one of the best and most consistent rebounders in EuroLeague Women for a number of seasons.

Netherlands center Naomi Halman adds further strength to that rotation and re-signs, with Anais Deas being given a chance to impress in the backcourt at the highest level after signing from second tier side Aulnoye.
