EKATERINBURG (EuroLeague Women) – We’re checking in with the quartet of clubs preparing to land in Ekaterinburg for EuroLeague Women Final Four and Dynamo Kursk are next in line for our spotlight.

The History: Dynamo Kursk made history two years ago when they reached The Final Four for the very first time. However, they lost their Semi-Finals clash against UMMC in Prague. Now they are looking to pen at least one more historical chapter with a first-ever Final appearance or maybe even a maiden EuroLeague Women title.

The Game: Dynamo Kursk will go up against ZVVZ USK Prague in the Semi-Finals and both clubs know each other well from their two meetings during the Regular Season. The Russian side scraped to a 69-66 home triumph and then cruised past their rivals 73-49 in the Czech capital.

The Latest: It has all been relatively quiet of late for Dynamo Kursk, with the main news being that having not lost a EuroLeague Women game all season, they have now also advanced to the Finals of the Russian Premier League after beating Dynamo Moscow in the Semi-Finals.

Danger Sources: Dynamo Kursk certainly aren't short of talent or options and will look to Angel McCoughtry to continue driving them forward, alongside her compatriot Nnemkadi Ogwumike. The former has had an astonishing campaign on her return to the competition and her athleticism and sheer drive to make things happen for Kursk was never more evident than in the Quarter-Finals. She will put points on the board, while Ogwumike is liable to post a double-double any time she hits the court and has been a premier performer ever since she joined the competition four years ago. Also in the paint, watch out for teenage phenomenon Maria Vadeeva who will be making her debut at the Final Four – as will Les Bleues center Helena Ciak.

The backcourt has great options with veteran combo guards Anna Cruz and Epiphanny Prince inter-changing as required, although it's normally Cruz calling the plays. There is also the ability of former EuroBasket Women MVP Elena Kirillova to hurt teams with her scoring talent off the bench.

The Coach: There are few more talented or highly rated play-callers in the women's game than Lucas Mondelo. The Spaniard has a huge presence because of his personality and his track record of success which extends from gold with Spanish youth and senior teams, several historic firsts with his country such as making the Final of the FIBA Women's World Championship and Olympics for the first time – as well as three WCBA titles in China. You can also add delivering a EuroLeague Women title for Perfumerias Avenida six years ago against the odds. He has a habit of finding success in his first year of competitions or when in a new role and so far, there is nothing to suggest he can’t do the same this weekend and add to his wonderful resume.

The Key Stat: Nobody has done a better job on the glass this season than Dynamo Kursk, who are the only team who have passed 40 rebounds per game with 40.3 per outing.
