GYOR (EuroLeague Women) – The last two games of Week 9 of the EuroLeague Women Regular Season see CMB Cargo Uni Gyor and Hatay try to pull of surprise victories on their respective home floors.

Gyor were soundly beaten last week at 2015 champions ZVVZ USK Prague and will now entertain Beretta Famila Schio - having played well during the first meeting in Italy, even if they couldn't dig out a win.

And, despite having had the gulf in class exposed in the Czech capital during their last outing when they were shot down 83-56, Gyor are remaining upbeat ahead of their latest challenge.

"Prague are just a team at a different level as they are much better," insisted Zsofia Simon.

"On offense, we were actually okay, but we still need to work on better our defense," she added ahead of facing Schio.

The main threat for Gyor offensively is likely to come from Cyesha Goree who has been in a rich vein of form domestically.

Meanwhile Hatay go up against a Perfumerias Avenida team who may have slipped to a 4-4 record, but showed their potential when they were only narrowly beaten at reigning champions UMMC last week.

Even if they didn't complete a surprise victory, Avenida guard Silvia Dominguez is drawing strength from what unfolded at her first trip back to her former club - something which bodes well for the game in Antakya.

She said: "We went to Ekaterinburg thinking it was possible to win even if we knew that UMMC are one of the strongest European clubs.

"Our mentality was turned strongly towards this competition and I am proud of the job we did and how we played."

The club have also sealed a return for Alana Beard, with Avenida inking the recently crowned WNBA champion after releasing Erica Wheeler who is now at EuroCup Women side Maccabi Bnot.

Hatay are currently looking to improve on their 2-6 record and exact revenge for a heavy 92-62 defeat in Salamanca.
