Unbeaten trio lead five teams into the next round

MUNICH (EuroCup Women) - Bellona Agu and Spar Citylift Girona both maintained their perfect records in the competition to advance and set up a showdown in the Round of 8.

The two teams were part of five teams to move into the next round on Wednesday with Galatasaray also extending their unbeaten run.

Bellona Agu advanced after completing a resounding 134-116 win against Cavigal Nice Basket as a 66-56 home triumph backed up an impressive first-leg display.

Ann Wauters contributed 14 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals in an all-round effort with the home crowd in Kayseri able to celebrate an eighth win of the season.

Next up will be a mouth-watering clash with Girona as the Spanish side overcame the challenge of TSV 1880 to prevail by 12 points on aggregate.

Girona raced out of the blocks with a 21-2 start before holding off a strong late fightback from the visitors to record a 79-71 home victory with 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists from Leonor Rodriguez.

Meanwhile, Galatasaray were dominant in an 81-49 victory over Peac Pecs as Moriah Jefferson netted 23 points to lead her side into the next round with an overall 152-116 aggregate success.

Virtus Eirene Ragusa will lock horns with the side from Turkey in the Round of 8 after they completed an 18-point aggregate win over Basketball Nymburk.

Chiara Consolini netted 18 points in the 71-57 win on the night with Spain's Astou Ndour adding 17 points and 12 rebounds for the home victors.

Also, Good Angels Kosice also made it through, although they were made to sweat for their place after Carolo Basket almost overturned a 19-point deficit.

The home side won the second leg 72-58 with 20 points from Kim Mestdagh, but it was not enough to advance to the Round of 8.

The final three spots in the next round will be decided tomorrow.
