EuroCup Women - Wednesday Round-up

MUNICH (FIBA EuroCup Women) - Six more teams qualified for the Round of 16 on Wednesday to leave five spots still to be decided.

TTT Riga are assured of a place in the next round as they picked up their third win in Group C by beating Dynamo Novosibirsk 56-65 on the road.

Gunta Basko-Melnbarde was all over the stat-sheet for the visitors with 20 points, 12 rebounds, 3 assists as well as 3 steals.

Their qualification was only confirmed later in the day as a result of Galatasaray’s 87-66 victory over Samsun Canik as Moriah Jefferson poured in 28 points.

Bellona Agu held their nerve to maintain their unbeaten start with a 74-73 success against PEAC Pecs to secure their spot in the Last 16. Chelsea Gray finished with 20 points and 6 assists in the come from behind win.

Two spots in Group G were decided after Cavigal Nice Basket took care of business on the road and Reyer Venezia advanced despite an 83-80 loss against Basket Landes.

Nice produced a timely 10-0 burst late in their 62-68 win against Elfic Fribourg as Romy Bar contributed 10 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals.

Basketball Nymburk will be competing in the Round of 16 after they earned their fourth win in Belgium with a 54-61 success against Namur.

They moved to 4-1 alongside Virtus Eirene Ragusa, who eased to a 46-65 victory away at Nantes Reze as Chiara Consolini contributed 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Elsewhere, Carolo Basket and Spar Citylift Girona both made it five wins from five with contrasting victories.

Kaleena Lewis netted 23 points in a dominant 79-47 win for Carolo, while Leonor Rodriguez had 24 points and 7 rebounds to help Girona past Castors Braine, 56-65.
