Basketball Nymburk to rely on Romanian duo

NYMBURK (EuroCup Women 2017) – Basketball Nymburk are putting their faith in Romania national team pair Sonia Ursu and Elisabeth Pavel to help propel them to a successful EuroCup Women 2017 campaign.

Having dipped their toes into the EuroCup Women waters last season, Basketball Nymburk will be looking to continue what proved to be a rock solid initiation this second time around.

Pavel arrives in the Czech Republic having played briefly for TSV 1880 Wasserburg in the tournament last season and Baschet ICIM earlier in her career.

The forward lined up alongside her compatriot at EuroBasket Women 2015 and the ongoing EuroBasket Women 2017 Qualifying Windows, with Ursu preparing herself for a EuroCup Women debut after impressing for her country at the 2016 FIBA 3x3 European Championship Qualifier.

The club have also opted to turn to the experience of Katerina Krizova who will make her return to European club competition for the first time in seven years. She arrives via rivals Hradec Kralove.

Basketball Nymburk are pencilled in to play in Group E of Conference 2 against Belfius Namur Capitale, ASD Pol. Virtus Eirene Ragusa and a club from the EuroCup Women Qualifiers.
