BAMAKO (2015 FIBA Africa U16 Championship) - Egypt and hosts Mali have secured their qualification for the Quarter-Finals of the 2015 FIBA Africa U16 Championship as the Egyptians trounced Nigeria, 107-46, while the Malians dominated debutants Equatorial Guinea 89-29 in their Group A games on Day 4.

As has been the case since the start of their campaign, Egypt got off to a great start and had a commanding 58-19 lead at halftime.

They maintained that same rhythm after the break as the maintained their domination in all aspects of the game, getting 32 points off of their opponents' 22 turnovers.

Ahmed Khalaf had a game-high 22 points in the winning cause.

Tournament hosts Mali took a 28-4 first quarter lead against Equitorial Guinea and never looked back on their way to a comfortable win in which the bench played a pivotal role, contributing 46 points.

With the victory, they cemented their second place in Group A and booked their place for the Quarter-Finals.

On Tuesday, Mali and Egypt will square off to decide who finished first in Group A.

Meanwhile, in Monday's first game, Algeria saw off Rwanda, 66-44, to clinch their second win in the tournament.

After winning just one of their first three games, the Algerians found themselves in a 'must-win' situation in order to advance to the Quarter-Finals.

They got off to a good start, leading 20-9 at the end of the first quarter and 31-19 at the break. 

The Rwandans, who turned the ball over 35 times in the contest, did not threaten in the second half.

Algeria's Mohamed Sahbi Akram led all scorers with 16 points.

In Group B's other game, Tunisia got the better of Morocco, 61-40, to keep their hopes alive to clinch a Quarter-Final spot.

The Tunisians, who finished third at the last edition of this tournament, led 14-10 to end the first quarter but the Moroccans played hard and stayed within striking distance, trailing 28-22 at the break. 

Tunisia maintained their pressure and used their strong presence inside to pull away in the third quarter, outscoring their opponents 19-12 and it proved to be the pivotal moment of the game.

They got a huge boost from their bench, who accounted for 43 of the team's 61 points.

Tunisia's Mohamed Jammali and Morocco's Hatim El Kama each had a game-high 13 points.

The last game of the day saw Ethiopia edge out South Africa, 70-67.

Tuesday sees the conclusion of the First Round.
